REalEASE
"Change happens through movement and movement heals."
Joseph H. Pilates

Our Pilates offer consists of Pilates personal training and, depending on demand, open studio sessions.
If you have the goal:
Then Pilates is for you. There are many other reasons to practice Pilates, even if it's simply because it's a lot of fun.
Pilates is more than just fitness training. Joseph Pilates called his method "Contrology". His books are called "Your Health" and "Return to Life". It is fun and challenges you to get to know your body in all its possibilities. Pilates trains all muscles and the fascial network in every exercise. It enables you to face the challenges that life presents with resilience, flexibility, adaptability, pain-free and strength.
Your Pilates training at REalEASE
I want to help you find out how your body works. How you can evenly distribute the forces acting on you throughout your entire system. You will learn how focus, attention and precision control and influence your movements. Pain and tension caused by poor movement habits have the opportunity to dissolve by developing more efficient patterns. This will make it easier for you to deal with internal and external stress factors.
Pilates trains your fascial system (simplified connective tissue and muscles) to evenly distribute all forces acting on you throughout your body.
The well-known efficiency of the method developed by Joseph Pilates is scientifically supported by the findings of fascia research and the concept of bio-tensegrity.
THE FASCIAL CONNECTIVE TISSUE, THE INTERNET IN OUR BODY
The transfer of force through and into the tissue requires communication. This communication takes place via the fascial connective tissue, which includes every cell, every muscle, tendon and ligament and everything in between. So you could say that our fascia is the World Wide Web of our body.
Through attention and perception of internal and external processes, we can control this communication network so that unfavorable movement patterns dissolve and are replaced by highly efficient new patterns.
THE ARCHITECTURE OF OUR BODY, BIO-TENSEGRITY
Our body is constructed similarly to a modern skyscraper.
Relatively light supporting structures are connected by the material that simultaneously holds them together and supports them. In a skyscraper, this is the steel beams and the concrete in between. In our body, it is the bones and the tissue (fascial connective tissue and muscles).
In a skyscraper, this concept is called tensegrity (tension and integrity), in our case bio-tensegrity.
In Pilates training, the tissue is optimally addressed and trained. This way, it learns how to keep all structures together and apart as best as possible. This creates the space that every joint and every internal organ needs to function properly.
This solves problems of the musculoskeletal system, which are usually caused by excessive strain and pressure.
What does Pilates have to do with gravity?
Gravity is the force that affects us every second we live. We rarely consciously consider its effect on our bodies and the way we move.
Not to mention seeing gravity as a positive influence on us, as the force that enables us to move and stand upright.
How do we deal with gravity in Pilates?
The springs of the Pilates equipment allow us to adapt to gravity in all positions because they have a force that increases the further we extend into them.
The springs simulate the effect of gravity in many exercises.
At the same time, we can use gravity to provide energy to the springs and our bodies.
Just as Joseph Pilates developed his equipment to make it easier for us to move, gravity can make it easier for us to move and maintain an upright posture.
In most cases, however, we fight against gravity every day instead of using it as free energy.
If we simultaneously use the elastic energy storage system of our fascia, we can allow gravity and the fascia to move us with little effort.
Why Pilates Personal Training?
In the PT setting, you will find out individually when you need how much strength for which challenge. You will learn to let go of the restrictions that prevent you from developing your full physical potential. You will learn to focus and can leave your everyday life at the door for the session.
This session is just for you, your body, your fun and the focus and the challenges will help you forget everything else for this time.
In a 1-on-1 setting, you will get to know the Pilates repertoire that is important to you and learn the routines that you can then continue to practice independently in my presence during the open studio training times.
Why Pilates Open Studio Training?
This offer is for everyone who wants to practice their routines independently. In very few studios do you have the opportunity to practice your Pilates exercises without instruction. I believe that your Pilates skills and your overall movement experience will be greatly enhanced if you gain experience with the repertoire yourself without precise instruction.
What do Open Studio Sessions look like?
The number of participants is limited to 4 per session. These are not guided training sessions. I will always be present and will be available to answer 2-3 questions. Learning new exercises or working intensively on your challenges are part of personal training.
What are the requirements for you to participate in Open Studio Sessions?
You know your Pilates routines and know how to use the equipment and your settings. You should have routines on all equipment so that you can switch between the equipment. You can also gain Pilates experience in other Pilates studios with other teachers. To get started, however, you must take a few personal training sessions with me so that I can be sure that you know your routines and how to use my machines.

Pilates and golf go well together. This interaction has been appreciated by golfers for years. Perhaps you came to this page by searching for "Pilates for golfers" on the Internet. Then you've already noticed how many connections the two terms have. All the golfers we work with are looking for precision and refinement in their movements and the Pilates method is ideal for that. Training on the equipment in particular helps you to control your movements precisely and thus to recognize and refine your movement patterns. At the same time, you learn to use your own strength, gravity, swing forces and elasticity in interaction. And Pilates takes you into "the zone" just like playing golf itself.
As a musician, you can benefit from Pilates, among other things:
If you want to find out the optimal movement pattern in the interaction between you and your instrument.
If you want to experience through connection, power transfer and flow how your body becomes permeable to the music and can resonate with you and your instrument.
If you want to find the appropriate level of support so that your body literally carries your voice / wind instrument, gives it wings and grounds it at the same time.
In our eyes, musicians are competitive athletes. The instrument – be it your own voice or one that is located outside – presents your body with conditions and challenges.
Your body will adapt to this more or less optimally. Less favorable adaptations can lead to pain problems and other limitations in the long term. This can have a significant impact on your ability to make music.
The aim of our joint work is to bring the challenge of the instrument/voice into balance with the conditions and adaptation mechanisms of the body.
This makes it possible to make music in a relaxed, vibrant way over the long term and with great ease. Physical stress reactions are reduced.
"Music has accompanied me all my life. I studied singing. I play various instruments, admittedly at a rather amateur level. I take singing lessons regularly and perform in a smaller setting with a new program about once a year. Working with professional musicians and ambitious amateurs is a particular pleasure for me." - Joachim Schultz
"The fascial Pilates training gave me a fascinating new insight into Pilates exercises. My body awareness has also changed a lot. During the personal training sessions with Joachim, I had the most "aha experiences", in the sense of "Aha, that's what it feels like? I've never felt that in my body before. Thanks to Joe's fine perception, intuition and, of course, knowledge of the fascial lines, he is always able to challenge me anew and helps me to connect even better. I have learnt a lot from him about breathing, opening the back line, opening the hips, connecting the arms and much more. He also works very creatively with the equipment and uses images to try and improve my movements and posture and release tension. Thank you for your support."
- M.F., Spyral dynamist, Bern
"Working with Joachim Schultz is particularly important to me because, as a singer, he can respond specifically to me by understanding the way in which we professional musicians work for hours at the instrument - in my case, sitting down - and knows about the specific problems. He has an incredible sensitivity for the finest physical weaknesses, tensions, anomalies and immediately sees the consequences that such tensions have on other parts of the body."
- N.S.
"To meet the challenge of living with a cerebral walking disability, my body has developed numerous strategies. Many of them compensate for missing motor patterns with high muscular and mental effort. By working with Joachim, I recognise these strategies and learn alternatives that require less strength by using biomechanical principles. I was particularly impressed by Joachim's exceptionally quick and detailed understanding of my complex and atypical movement patterns."
